Wellness Hackathon

Pan India Wellness Hackathon 2025

 

IIT Madras is organizing a Pan-India Wellness Hackathon for the students of higher educational institutions, in association with C-DAC, Bangalore. The objective behind this Hackathon is to create awareness on the mental health and overall well-being of the student population, as well as to encourage young innovators to come up with out-of-the-box ideas and technological solutions that can help those who may be experiencing health-related issues, as well as the caregivers.

For this the Institute is calling students of UG/PG/ PhD level of bonafide institutions [1] [PK2] to submit their proposals in the following thematic areas: Mental Health and Wellness, Social Connections and Community Building, Academic and Career-Related Stress, Accessibility and Inclusivity, Relationship issues, Social Media addiction.

The proposed solutions can be in the form of Mobile App,, WebUI, technology, product, service, game, gadget etc.

 

Students can form a team of 2-5 members to participate in the competition. One team leader needs to be identified by the team. All members of the team need to sign and upload the joint consent form, the format for which is given in the registration link.

 

The Institute/ College/ University need to issue an authorization letter to the participating teams, to be signed by the Head of the Department/ Principal/Dean/ Director/equivalent level. All team members need to be from the same institution. Multiple teams are allowed from one institution[3] [PK4] . The format for the authorization letter is also provided in the registration link.

The proposal can be submitted in a word or PDF format. It can be between 2-5 pages and should clearly mention the problem statement, objective, dataset to be used, step-by-step process of the suggested solution and final outcome[5]  alongwith the format in which it will be provided (Mobile App, API, WebUI, Tool etc.)

The submitted entries will be reviewed by an expert panel constituted for this purpose and the short-listed teams will be called for the Wellness Hackathon, which will be conducted at the IIT Madras Campus on 16th & 17th August 2025. Their accommodation and food will be taken care by the Institute. For outstation candidates, a travel allowance of upto Rs 2000 per student will also be reimbursed by the Institute (on submission of ticket copy).  

The registration fee for participating in the Hackathon is Rs 1000 per team (non-refundable). Please note that the applications will be accepted only on payment of the registration fees.

 Certificates of participation will be provided to all short-listed teams at the Valedictory event which will be held in the evening of 17th August 2025.

 Important Dates:

1.    Commencement of registration process 15th May 2025

2.    Closure of registration process 15th June 2025

3.    Announcement of the short-listed teams on the DoST office and C-DAC websites  1st-4th July 2025

4.    Wellness Hackathon at IIT Madras Campus 16th & 17th August 2025
